Cedar Breaks National Monument...

Cedar Breaks is more than 2,000 feet deep.  The view is incredible.  It's only about 45 minutes from Cedar.  Chris and I made it our Saturday afternoon.
We hiked down as far as we could, and took pictures on the last remaining rock.  From there on it's a clear drop off. We decided to leave that to the professionals, and by that I mean, I was freezing and the whole area was being taken over by an SUV full of polygamists.  We made like a baby and headed right out of there.  Ironic isn't it.

Happy Halloween...

G-ma Donna had her annual Halloween party.  Chris and I didn't dress up. I wish we would have. I've just been far to overwhelmed this semester to come up with costumes as well. My mother parental  showed up looking like none other than -Paula Dean.  “Bein' rich is having leftovers. Good leftovers make yo' tongue fly outta yo' mouth and smack yo' brains out.”
My dad scared the pants dress off our lil white version of princess and her frog. I was even a bit nervous.  Chris kept saying, "who is that?" The crazy thing is, he's got another thing coming if he thinks my dad gets into Halloween.  Father Christmas here we come!
Oh my lanta! Did you see this kids costume? Look at Hedwig, seriously look!
You would think HP won me over, and that he did.  Until I saw this guy. Baby Jhet

I like looking at these pictures...

Chris used to be a real hoodlum.  That's putting it nicely.  Then he met these guys...
One day I will have Chris share his story. He tells it better than me anyway.

Because it's Friday...

- I was once told that those little white marks on finger nails appear from not drinking enough milk.  Is that true?

- I remember regularly eating at JB's Family Restaurant. I still can't fathom why the parentals thought that was a good idea.

-One time a horse named Joker picked me up by the chest, with his teeth, and threw me through a fence- still have the scar to prove it.

-Today at work a student came in and asked me how to register for classes. I asked him what year he was, and he responded with "senior." I truly believe anyone can graduate college.

-I think I like Costa Vita better than Cafe Rio.

-Chris sometimes says crap like, "If loving you is a crime, than lock me up." It makes me feel weird. Now that I've written this, he will probably say it for the rest of my life.

-I never once owned JNCO jeans.  Praise the heavens for that one!

-Whenever you ask my father parental where he's going. He responds with, "to see a man about a pig."

-I would recommend NOT contracting the flu in the middle of the semester.

-At any given point I'd probably rather consume Captain Crunch than any other meal.

-The parentals never have sugared cereal at their house.  I believe my love for Captain Crunch steams from that small fact.

-I used to watch Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey on Newlyweds When they broke up it felt a lot like the time I heard Bert and Ernie were gay.

-The only thing I liked more than Mary Kate & Ashley was Disney's Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century.

-I used to think my mom would get mad if she caught me using Bonnie Bell's Cappuccino Lip gloss. I've always been a parent pleaser.

-Coca Cola went to town, Pepsi shot em down. Doctor Pepper fixed em up..... (For the life of me I can't remember what comes next.)

Today mostly looks like the top picture...

I've posted these before when I realized I accidentally took the same picture three times. I'm feeling so good today.  The first snow is always a wing dinger. Earlier this week I somehow contracted the flu/birth control/expired milk disease.  Not sure if it was one of those or the combination.  Nonetheless, I threw up on campus and had to lay on the grass. Talk about a manic Monday and wishin it was Sunday. In better news, Chris is coming to Cedar this weekend for our engagement photographs. Can't wait to see him all gussied up.

P.S. I officially hate the word gussied.

Easy Peasy Halloween Squeezy....

My goal for fall break was to do something that didn't involve public administration or wedding.  Look at me accomplishing goals.

Step 1: Take two glass somethings. I took these two vases because I already had them.
Step 2: Wrap them in baling twine. If your dad doesn't have a barn full of baling twine. I'm sure you could use yarn, or something equally twine like.
Step 3: Spray paint. I chose black because Hayden and I are planning a Halloween double date Friday night, but really any color would do.  Chris got me the spray paint at Lowe's. I think his coworkers are worried he might show up to work spray painted one of these days. Note to self: take it easy on the spray paint projects.
Step 4: Remove baling twine or twine like substance.  I would probs recommend walking to the barn, even when you don't feel like it, to get more hay strings.  I think adding another layer would have been very Martha Stewart of me.
Step 5: Finish er' off, and off course light them on fire. I prefer there to be some element of flame in all of my crafting hoopla- but that's just me.
Stole the idea from here

Fall Break Equals...

Eight whole days with this guy!

Utah was exceptionally green this spring.  Chris and I would go to our Sunday park and snap away at the scenery.

All that green has turned an amazing red.  It seems more vibrant than usual.

These two trees were side by side.  Strange how some turn quicker than others.

This post puts the tack in tacky...

I've hesitated writing such a post.  I'd hate to sound picky and in reality I don't consider myself such.  Three or four times a day I get asked what Chris and I could use for our future home.  It's been difficult to answer and truthfully I haven't spent much time thinking about it.  As long as Chris is there, I think I will be just fine. Nevertheless,  my mom encouraged me to throw up a few things here to illustrate my style.

Living Room- We will have brown leather couches. Santa brought me these trunks last Christmas and they have been on my parents landing ever since.  I am excited to put them in our living room.  In my previous post you may have seen I painted our garage sale TV stand a similar red.

Bedroom- This is my Anthro bedspread.  It may be a bit girly for Chris.  However, since I saved up for it... I'm making him use it.  We have off white furniture, which I think will complement the bedding nicely.  As far as having a bed and a bedspread, we have nothing else.  I do know we need a mattress pad, sheets, lamp, and a tie hanger. Chris is notorious for scattering ties everywhere. Please bless a tie hanger will help him control his fixation for leaving ties wherever he takes them off.

Kitchen - I don't have any specifics. I know we have a blender and a griddle thing.  I love bright colors. We lack in the kitchen area.  We could use anything that people use when they use a kitchen.  Since I rarely use a kitchen, I don't know what those things are.

Bathroom- We have nothing, literally, Chris forgets to buy toilet paper about half the time.  I know Chris has some mismatched towels and I have bright pink polka dot shower curtain from my freshman year.  I'm hoping to make things more neutral with brown and tans for Chris since my stuff tends to take over.

Hopefully that gives family and friends far away and sense of my style. When I asked Chris the other day what he wanted for our wedding he said - tools and oil changes.  There you have it.

The Blue Coconut Crush....

Chris - "Let's go to Sonic and get one of those blue drinks."
Danielle - "Ok we haven't been in awhile"

Car get's silent...
Chris - "Danielle I have something to tell you."
Long Pause
Chris - "Sometimes at night when I leave your house I come and get one of these....same size and everything."

I don't blame him one bit.
They're that good!
