It's Friday, Friday...

I recall more difficult times, when I'd drive home from work late on Friday's and count how many cars there were with only one person inside. Grateful, I to have someone in the passenger seat and by passenger seat I mean Chris drives!
I love Fridays!
I love Chris!

P.S. I only half apologize the Friday song is now in your head.

Old Stock Certificates...

I'm intrigued with the intricate design and texture's of old stock certificates.  It's sad to think technology has ruined much of the creativity.  I'd love to find an old stash and play the research game, even with the outcomes inevitable.
Apple - don't we all wish we bought 10 years a go!
I'm fasinated by the whole industry.

McLane Ranch...

Chris and I had to go into Park City to get my phone yesterday.  While driving home we passed this beautiful barn.  I've noticed it's been photographed and shown in numerous restaurants and businesses around town.  We decided to stop.   It's the old McLane Ranch.  An 80 acre working farm, that has now been purchased by the city and restored to be used for special events.  There is also a nice jogging path throughout.
We loved this building.  Chris and I often spoke of building our home in a similar fashion.  Say what??  When were old we want a house with one big room with a ton of natural light.
The house was locked but we couldn't resist peepin - can you see us?
After the ranch, we enjoyed the weather down at the lake.  Then took a nice long ride through Wallsburg and bought lemonade at a lemonade stand.  I found these pictures Chris took on the camera.  I think this was the part of the day when he said, "We didn't come to the lake to sit on a blanket and get a sun tan."
We love Heber!
We love Saturday's!

Ramblings of Spring...

  •  My favorite thing about spring is sleeping with the windows open and listening to the birds chirp in the morning.  Perhaps growing up with a swamp cooler paid off.
  • My dad is a tomato growing extraordinaire - sad to learn our East facing apartment won't allow my own plants this summer.
  •  I've been feeling so overwhelmed in all aspects - not enough hours in the day to finish everything.
  •  I can't wait to go camping this summer and sleep next to Chris in a tent.  Not that sleeping in a tent is that awesome, but falling asleep next to Chris always seems to be the most ridiculous part of the day.  I'm sure will come away with so many funny jokes - he's a dork.
  • I want to buy a billion things for our apartment.  Where are all those wedding gift cards when you need them?
  •  It's becoming more a reality that Chris and I will get to go back East this summer to visit family.  So thankful he is willing to make travel a priority, it means so much to me.
  • Hearing the birds this morning also made me nostalgic for the barn.  So many Saturday mornings putting on my dads shoes to run get the parentals something.  I really worry my kids won't have that.
  •  I started work on March 13th and since lost 20 pounds.  Chris is down 27 - we still have a long way to go but it feels good my clothes are fitting.
  • The worst part about living in Heber is Nancy is so far away.  We still talk everyday but I really miss her.
  • My phone is currently at the Cafe Rio in Park City.  I'm just thankful Chris is patience with my whole "losing important things problem."  I'm still scared to tell my dad and I don't even live with him anymore.
  • I threw away my retainer last night.  I also repainted the book shelf I made in 6th grade wood shop. I'm feeling so adult today.
  •  I need a good book to read. Help!
  • The only ski lifts I like are the one's with green grass growing under them.  Please bless it stops snowing in PC soon!

The Temple...

Here are family candids of the temple, with a few of my thoughts looking back.
Thank heavens I look normal. I was sure my eyes would be puffy, everytime I looked at Chris in the temple I started to cry.  I recall a feeling of relief sweep over me as we walked out -graditude that I wasn't walking out with anyone but him.  .
I don't see Alyse a lot, but she's been my longest friend. Junior High memories flood back.  Her support did not go un-noticed - friends forever.
I'm sorry but how cute is my grandma?
We've been un-seperable since High School and gone through first loves, heartbreak, missions, funerals, preganies and weddings together.  Who can say all six of your best friends can sit together worthily in the temple.  I owe much of my goodness, my testimony, and many of my happy memories to these girls.
Chris friend John and his family came clear from St. George.
My two favorite pictures from the whole entire day!!!
Chris's parents deserve their own shout out.  How special it was to meet his dad, and spend time prior to the wedding with his mom.  They coped with logistics and travel without complaint.  I wish we had more time to visit and get to know each other. I look forward  to more memories spent on the east coast.
