Grandma's Obituary...


Donna Chapple Hanks

April 16, 1931 ~ July 18, 2012

Our dearest Wife, Mother and Grandmother passed away July 18, 2012. She was born April 16, 1931 in Spanish Fork, Utah to Roach and Elvern Robbins Chapple. Her childhood was spent in Spanish Fork, Utah. She graduated from Spanish Fork High School and that is where she met her sweetheart, Vaud Melvin Hanks. They were married July 27, 1949 in the LDS Manti Temple. They enjoyed 63 wonderful years together.

Vaud and Donna raised six children, one son and five daughters; Brent Vaud Hanks (Patty), Jolene Andreason (Blair), Leann Hales (Larry), Susan Olsen (Scott), Lesa Swenson (David), and Laurie Hanks. Donna leaves behind a legacy of 24 Grandchildren and 38 Great Grandchildren. 

Donna enjoyed gardening reading, cooking and embroidery. Her family was her greatest love. She loved family parties and being at the family cabin in Loafer Canyon. Donna was a wonderful homemaker and great example to everyone she met.

Mom, you will be forever in our hearts. We love and we will miss you.

She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and brother, Paul R. Chapple (Marilyn). She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Keith R. Chapple.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 23, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Salem Utah at the LDS Chapel located at 60 N. Main. A viewing will be held Sunday, July 22, 2012 at Walker Funeral Home, 187 S. Main Street, Spanish Fork and on Monday at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be at the Salem City Cemetery.

  2. Danielle, I'm so sorry about your grandma! She seems like a really neat lady that everyone was lucky to meet. Aren't we blessed to have the knowledge of the Gospel and to have it comfort our hearts when we lose someone near to us? I hope everything else is going well for you and you're having a great summer! Just pretend I gave you a hug via the Internet :)
