My future as a braid-er...

I wear my hair in two french braids a lot. It's just as easy as a pony tail, but I like it better because it doesn't give me a headache as quick.  I have thick hair. Chris also requests I do braids, a lot.

Today after I braided my hair, I exclaimed to Chris how my left braid might be the best braid I've ever done. He promptly replied with, "babe it does look good, you should become a braid-er."  My reply, "where would one find work as a braid-er."  He says, "St. George, remember all those polygamists we saw."  He was dead freakin serious.

Cool that my husband believes I can be anything I want to be. Uncool that he's slightly into the whole polig look.

Baby Bates It's Cold Outside....

Chris and I are currently in a transition.  I guess that's what will call it.  We don't know a lot of what the future will bring.  I'm actually used to this since change is my thing.  We're on our third apartment in a year and half. I've decided to embrace whatever happens to us in the next couple months.  The only thing we do know is my stomach is getting bigger and bigger and this guy is coming our way.  There's always a good constant in the mix of life.  That being said, I have exactly two things I am excited to buy for this little guy.

1. Coat
2. Christmas Eve Pajamas

I've been looking all over for a good coat.  I thought I found one this weekend on the New Zara Mini.  Then I remembered the thing I hate about myself the most. I have expensive taste.  Why the crap is a newborn coat 50 bones?  Either way it's stinking cute huh.

Julia Frances Harry Bennett...

Chris's grandma passed away this week.  Although we weren't able to make it out to South Carolina for any of the services, she's definitely been remembered in our house.  Since Chris grew up across the country I haven't had the opportunity to meet any of his extended family.  A trip we hope to make a larger priority in the future. Yet Chris is always full of memories and stories.  It's been fun to lay in bed this week as he's described the memories in his grandmother's home.  Her obituary below. Great learning so much about someone whose had a great influence on Chris's life.

Loved seeing Chris in a photo with his grandma.  I asked Chris about this picture and his response, "Oh yeah that's right after I gained a testimony."  I love that he refers to his life as when he had a testimony and when he didn't.
On that note, Chris emailed me this picture and said something along the lines of, "look at me back in the day."  I may never get to meet Mrs. Bennett, but I do know one thing for sure.  We had the same taste in men, as our husbands are literally identical.

Our Life...

It's hard to imagine adding a little boy to our mix.  The anticipation almost kills me sometimes, but then I remember it will never just be just the two of us again. What a sad thought. Anytime we have to spend together is my favorite. In my dream life Chris and I would get to hang out all day everyday.    I'm pathetic, I know, but I'm so glad I'm still absolutely obsessed with my husband almost two years later. Tonight, I saw this picture that I cut Chris out of and posted on Facebook when we first started dating. Heaven forbid someone knew I liked him. Makes me laugh every time. Here's to two more months as a family of two. Hopefully, I like this little guy as much as I love his dad.

Baby Names Continued...

Thank goodness no one told me that they hated certain names on the list.  Except Sisterville, she called the next morning and said, "If you name your kid Bulloch I won't love him."  I feel like this sister can say that because I know she would love him anyway, but I agreed I would take it off the list.  That being said, even though I crossed quite a few off, I think I might been adding quite a few more.  Making progress though, and that's all I wanted to feel was a little progress....

Our child may never get a name....

The two most common questions I get being pregnant are...
What are you having?
What are you going to name it?

I've talked about my anxiety about telling names before.  I've also talked about how I panic that people think I'm trying to be secretive.  I'm not.  I literally have no idea what this baby's name will be.  Furthermore, I've talked about possibilities and names so much that Chris is no longer participating.  He said we can start talking about it again two weeks before he comes.

Good grief people what am I going to name this little boy?

Last night I made a list of all the names I like.  Then I had Chris cross off any that were an absolute no.  Each week until the baby comes we are going to continue to cross off names.  We might be adding some too.  I thought I'd share here for your reference.
If you have something to add to list people do tell.
Also if you hate some of them on our list, please do not tell.
Last, but not least, if your child's name is on here don't be offended that I like it.

High Centered...

About a month a go Chris taught me about a Dairy Queen Blizzard.  Introducing your pregnant wife to a Dairy Queen Blizzard is by far the stupidest move a husband could ever make. Best thing that ever happened to me though.  As we left Dairy Queen we found this little gem.  Poor guy got himself high centered in the middle of a late night ice cream run.
The best part about this picture is that I posted it on Instagram that night with the hashtag #idiot.  Which is only funny if your realize that I spelled idoit wrong.

Moral of this story.
I'm no smarter than the guy who high centered his van on the cement wall at Dairy Queen.
I know how to delete an Instagram photo in a jiff!

Photography Session Catch Up....

I've finally been posting my photography sessions on my photography blog.  I usually slack off and let them build up, then post a whole heap in a day or so.  I feel like that's how I roll in general lately.  I'm blaming the pregnancy or the rain, but really I think I'm just out of my groove.  Anyway, here's the links to a few below.  I have about three or four more in my archives, plus a big wedding I'm pumped about posting.  Bare with me people!

Speaking off my photography, I will posting a family session deal on my photography blog next week.  The holidays are just around the corner and I've already started to get a lot of referrals.  In general, I'm quite the planner, but with this pregnancy my planner/nesting instincts are in full force.  I'd like to get in all my sessions in order sooner rather than later.

Pork - Q - Pine...

I've said it before and I'll say it again.  Family Feud is my favorite show.  I don't watch it anymore since we cut out TV, but we do get Jimmy Fallon on Hulu.  Tonight we were watching Jimmy and he had Steve Harvey on the show.  He described the following clip.  Since I'm a huge fan Chris looked up the clip for me.  I laughed for a good 20 minutes straight.

P.S. Remember when Al Borlin from Home Improvement used to host Family Feud?  On that note, is anyone ticked that Al doesn't spell his name Owl?
